The Vodafone Fijian Under-20 rugby team took time out yesterday to visit the children at Treasure Home in Nadi before today’s clash against Tonga. Fijian U20 head coach Koli Sewabu said yesterday such visit was a first for the players.

“This portrays the message that we are trying to tell them for the last two weeks of preparations about privileges. Out of the thousands of young men who would like to have this opportunity, they have been chosen to represent their country.

“Through this visit they will be able to get to know more about the kids and their background, hopefully they will take it into heart and take that into the game against Tonga tomorrow,” he said. Sewabu who is a former Flying Fijian No.8 added that have prepared well and are gunning for win in order to qualify for the next round. “Our theme is about restoring pride and respect, that is the message we have instilled to the boys to win the tournament and make it to the junior world trophy next year.

“It’s a very important game for us; our performance in Uruguay for the last couple of months wasn’t great at all, the theme is to win and score maximum points.

“We are praying for fine weather, the Tongans will be bigger and a lot physical, we would like to maintain our style of play and wear them down with the help of the weather.” Treasure Home acting director Ulamila Kaisau said it was an honour to have the players and being there they have planted a seed in the children’s lives which they will never forget.
