American visiting speaker to Fijian women: Take the reins
The leader of a women’s group in the United States has urged Fijian women to ‘take the reins’ and go beyond their means to achieve.
The president of the National Council of Women of the United States of America Saideh Browne was speaking at an event organised by the National Council of Women Fiji (NCW Fiji) and the Haus of Koila.
“My dear women of Fiji, lead your country – take the reins – and do that which has never been done before,” she said at the Grand Pacific Hotel on Saturday night. “Leadership is not about greed or empire building. I’m sure mistakes were made along the way in the early development of America; what was not diminished, however, was that sense of calling and that sense that America was put here for something great.
“That calling for America is just as powerful here in Fiji, if not moreso!
“In leadership, there is no finish line - only continual pursuit.”
