Brigadier-General Marchand Takes Tour of Suva-Nasinu Military Installations
Commander of the French Armed Forces in New Caledonia (FANC) Brigadier-General Thierry Marchand paid Commander of the Republic of Fiji Military Forces Rear Admiral Viliame Naupoto a courtesy visit at the RFMF Strategic Headquarters last Thursday.
After discussions with Rear Admiral Naupoto the two exchanged gifts. Brigadier-General Marchand who was also an invited guest at the RFMF Band Centennial Anniversary and Military Tattoo last Friday was accorded a ‘Quarter Guard’ led by Third Battalion Fiji Infantry Regiment Support Company Sergeant Etuate Najoritani. The Commander of the FANC was ushered on a tour of the military installations around the Suva – Nasinu corridor as part of the visitation programme and he also paid his respects to our fallen in a laying of a wreath at our National War Memorial site in Veiuto.

This is Brigadier-General Marchand’s first official trip to Fiji upon taking up office as the new superior commander of the FANC on August 16, 2017.
