Masters Graduate Thanks Govt for Assistance
Seeing fellow Police officers excel, not only within the force but also academically, was what motivated 35-year-old Sanjay Raj to pursue graduate studies. He received an Executive Masters in Business Administration (EMBA) from the Fiji National University’s College of Business, Hospitality and Tourism Studies yesterday. Mr Raj said the two-and-a half-year feat was a challenging yet rewarding experience.
“I want to praise the Lord for His blessings. Being young and achieving this at this age is a milestone achievement especially coming from a very poor family background,” Mr Raj said.
He paid homage to his wife and her unwavering support throughout his studies.
He also advised youths never to look back and to take full advantage of the opportunities when it comes.
“I believe nothing is impossible and this lovely country is being supported by people of the vanua, the church and a Government that is willing to assist people.
“And I urge them (youths) to take accountability and responsibilities and adopt a positive mindset then they can always move forward in life,” he said.
Mr Raj praised the Commander of the Fiji Police Force who granted officers time to further their studies and also for the partial financial assistance rendered.
“We sacrifice time with family, relatives, and loved ones but all the glory goes to God for the strength given.”
To the university, he thanked those involved for having the Masters programme which imparted valuable knowledge about leadership and management.
“In this global arena there will be more challenges and as future corporate employees and employers we need to be dedicated, committed and be ready to set an example to lead the organisation through any circumstance so we can achieve planned goals.”
To fellow officers, he urged them to take up further studies at FNU.
