It was a double, or some may say, a triple celebration for Total Fiji (Ltd) yesterday as the company had farewelled their managing director and welcomed his successor.
It was also a spectacular night that was worthy of another special announcement. The company officially launched their new mobile application.
Total Fiji managing director Martin McCarthy is confident that his successor Kazi Rahman will continue to drive the company forward to reach new heights.
Mr McCarthy had successfully led the company in Fiji and other Pacific Island countries for almost three and a half years. He was the Managing Director and Country representative for the Total Group in the South Pacific responsible for Fiji, Tonga, Samoa and PNG.
Prior to his appointment as the managing director in Fiji, he held a similar position in Total Cambodia Limited.
Mr McCarthy has been a part of the oil industry for more than 20 years.
His successor, Mr Rahman is originally from Bangladesh and has over 14 years of experience in the oil industry holding various senior management positions in the Total Group.
Mr McCarthy shared that his first encounter with Mr Rahman was a few years ago in Pakistan where Mr Rahman was the chief financial officer of the group’s lubricants business.
Mr Rahman said: “It was a privilege to work with him before... Mr McCarthy has a deep understanding of the business and its complexities... He is a good coach and mentor.
“Fiji, apart from its beauty is popular in the Total Group and the same as Total Fiji Limited, an affiliate that the Group is proud of.”
He added that the Group is very proud of Total Fiji because of its safety standards and its ability to achieve so much in a short span on time.
He said Total Fiji is “one of the best examples in the Group”.
Total Services Station Finder
Total Services App is available on iPhone, iPod Touch, and iPad devices running iOS7 and Androids.
The new mobile application promises to create superior customer experience. Mr McCarthy said: “Our new Total Services app allows you to find all Total service stations in your location and to customize your search and your needs with a powerful filters system.
“This application also allows to easily access the route to get to Total service stations from where you are or from the location of your choice and have access to relevant information about the service stations; available services, fuels and opening hours.”
