Big Ben Award Winner Hopes Ceremony Will Be held In Fiji
EDITOR-IN-CHIEF OF FIJI’S CHINESE DAILY HONOURED IN GLOBAL EVENT
The 2017 Big Ben Award and Global Outstanding Persons Charity Ceremony and 14th World Elite Young Leaders Summit were held at the St James’s Church in Sussex Gardens, London.
Michael Honglian Yang, the editor-in-chief of the
Chinese Daily, the only Chinese newspaper in Fiji, was honoured with the Global Top Ten Outstanding Young Chinese Award.

Mr Yang’s company.
Mr Yang has extended an invitation to the organising committee to come to Fiji for a tour to decide whether the small South Pacific island country should be honoured with the opportunity to hold this worldwide event.
“I wish Fiji in the future will have the chance to be the location of the awarding ceremony,” he said.
Being the first Chinese Fijian winner, Mr Yang said he would like to commit himself further to activities related to the Big Ben Award.
“I’m very glad to come to London to receive the Big Ben Global Top 10 Outstanding Young Chinese Award. And I look forward to put more positive energy into related activities to achieve my dreams altogether with young people from other parts of the world,” Mr Yang said.
The Top 10 Outstanding Young Chinese Award winners both globally and within the UK are all hard-working, talented persons in their own fields, for example Chenwu Li in public benefit, Jiong He in hosting, Olympics medalist Aisen Chen in Sports, Lu Wang in designing, Sisi Lin in entrepreneurship, Beibei Wang in Singing and the above mentioned Michael Yang in the media and so on. The Chinese e-commerce magnate, chairman of the board of Alibaba Jack Ma won the 2017 Big Ben Golden Unicorn Prize.
The ceremony and the summit received award recipients and guests from countries and regions the world over, including the UK, China, the US, Venezuela, New Zealand, Japan, Egypt, Ivory Coast, Malaysia, Guyana, Singapore, Hong Kong as well as Fiji.
It was witnessed by several celebrities such as Princess Katarina, Lord Dominic, the 2016 Big Ben Award winners Guiquan Xie and Zhuqi Ke, and the founder of the Big Ben Award Junchen Li. In her welcoming address, deputy director in charge of the selection and appraisal in the UK region Ms Jing Liang even read a letter of congratulation from the British Prime Minister Theresa May.
The Big Ben Award is aimed to recognise outstanding Chinese persons in different fields for their great achievements and contributions, which make them role models for the next Chinese generation to follow so that they can take over the responsibilities to develop China and take the country further on the world stage.
