The Police are requesting the public for information that could assist in locating a woman and her two daughters who has been missing earlier this month.

Police spokesperson Inspector Jokatama Qio, said a 23-year-old mother Zaireen Nisha, and her two daughters Zureena, 4 and Zoya Nisha, 6 failed to return home on December 1.

Inspector Qio confirmed that investigations were still underway and they were pleading to the public for help.

“Investigation is still ongoing but nothing concrete at this moment. We are pleading to the general public if they have any information regarding the missing persons to contact the nearest police station or call the general help line,” he said.

A distraught mother Ainul Nisha, 59, while she wept, at her home in Nawaicoba, Nadi never expected this would happen.

“Having lived here for 45 years and never came across this situation,” she said.

“I told her to go and collect the voucher from the Muslim League branch in Nadi and to take her two kids out to a café. When they did not return that evening I was really concerned, I tried calling her a couple of times but there was no response.”

Ms Nisha is pleading for help from the public to assist her in locating her daughter and two granddaughters.

“Since we are heading into the New Year parents need to be more aware and take better responsibility for their actions. We are getting close to the new school year; parents need to be more attentive towards their children especially during festive season,” Inspector Qio said.

“Security should be the main priority for our children and its the parent’s responsibility to be aware of where their children are and not get too caught up during this festive season.”
