It is good for us Fijians to be ranked as the happiest country in the globe by topping the happiness index in the global end-of-year survey on hope, optimism and happiness.

Respondents were asked: "In general, do you personally feel very happy, happy, neither happy nor unhappy, unhappy or very unhappy about your life?

In Fiji, 94 per cent said they were happy or very happy, 2 per cent were unhappy or very unhappy and 4 per cent were neither happy nor unhappy. When the percentage of those who are unhappy is subtracted from the percentage of those who are happy, Fiji polled a happiness index of 92 per cent which was the highest of all countries surveyed in 2017.

Generally, for us Fijians, we consider ourselves to be the happiest people in the world, with or without the declaration of any such polls. As we are about to farewell 2017 and welcome 2018, can we say that despite all the negatives thrown in by the opposition; this happy country also reflects the good governance by our Prime Minister and his FijiFirst Party?

Let us pray that come 2018, Fiji will continue to

It is interesting to note the revamp of the formerly known, Fiji Commerce Commission.

Now known as the Fijian Competition and Consumer Commission (FCCC), this organisation states that one isn't a true Fijian if they practice racial prejudice and discrimination in trade, business and basically, life in Fiji.

What a relief to hear! If you practice it, it simply means you belong somewhere else. Pack up and move on or out. Fiji has no place for such atrocities, distrust and unkind attitudes. Take away the opportunities to live and one paves the way for opportunities to be forced to leave. That's how detrimental it is. Frankly, prejudices and discrimination of any kind needs to go.

Start lodging your complaints with FCCC Fiji! Let's expose those who aren't true Fijians.

Maybe a 'Princess and the pea' test should be implemented.

New Zealand sevens is looking for fast men like Perry Baker of the United States (FS 30/12).

NZ has waited for victory for a very long time but surely at a price.

It lost Sir Gordon Tietjens and his successor.

We are still very true to our team despite the losses.
