The Mamanuca Group has recorded the highest occupancy rate compared to other areas in the third quarter of last year. Compared to other areas such as Nadi, Coral Coast, Suva, Lautoka to Ra region and Northern Division, 65 per cent of the rooms provided by licensed hotels, resorts and lodging rooms in the Mamanucas were occupied.

This is according to the Fiji Bureau of Statistics findings for the third quarter of 2017 Survey of Licensed Hotels, Resorts and Lodging Houses. The release stated that the room occupancy rate slightly increased in all areas except for the Suva area, compared to the third quarter of 2016.

During the period of July, August and September, a large number of visitors from Australia stayed in the Coral Coast, Nadi and Mananuca Group.

A large number of visitors from the United States of America stayed in the Northern Division and other areas including Kadavu.

The Suva region had the highest number of visitors from other countries with majority from Japan and other Pacific Islands.

The survey includes three categories of establishments that provide predominantly shortterm non-residential accomodation to tourists and the general public.

In the table below, there were more than 400, 000 visitors from Australia with more than 100, 000 visitors from New Zealand and the Continental Europe.
