“The key focus will be on reviewing Netball Fiji constitution and structure as this is to ensure that our structure supports the changing needs of the sport,” she said.

They will be formulating key policies such as child protection to ensure that they protect and enhance the aspiration of young netballers. to ensure that they complete and implement the planning and initial phases for hosting of the 2021 NWYC.

“Working with key stakeholders inclusive of the Fiji Sports Council (FSC) on key requirements related to hosting this event, also ensuring the right people with the right skills are roped into the organising committee for this event.” Bogidrau said they would continue supporting the Pacific Sporting Partnership development programme NETGO.

It is funded by the New Zealand Government, facilitated by Netball NZ and Netball Fiji. She reiterated that they would be providing support in terms of enabling environment to enhance the Fijian Pearls programmes. This is through providing Test match opportunities apart from the Commonwealth Games. “Ensuring the team qualifies for the 2019 World Cup, which will be held in April in Auckland,” she said.

Bogidrau said they would continue to develop and prepare young elite players for their national teams.

“And also by providing opportunities that will allow them to grow their skills and capabilities.”

She said the current funding available to Netball Fiji was specifically for the programmes for the Fijian Pearls, their competitions and for the NetGo programme.

“We are ultimately accountable for these funds and we need to ensure that these are used for their intended purposes,” she added.
