KEEP AT IT PART 6: MORE EXERCISES INSIDE

-

Welcome back, readers! We’re coming up fast on the beginning of another school year. Holidays will be soon over and the scent of new school year is in the air. It is now time to start planning for back-to-school. Since it can be taken as a challenging phase, let us have a look at some ways the transition from the holidays to the learning environment will be made easy. You will definitely need to go back to being a team player, setting goals, being creative, display problem solving and effective communication Let us then begin with Word Ladders which are great literacy games! Whether you carry this out at home or when back at school, you will find that this can be easily prepared, is easy to learn and great for thinking about spelling and letter patterns. Word Ladders can be a game for 2 or 2 teams or it can even be a challenge to be taken up by each student. For this, you will need to start with a simple 3 or 4 letter word and you can take turns to change only one letter to make a new word. Do note that a word can’t be repeated in a game. The game ends when you can’t make another word. Here are two examples: III. Learn about different cultures: There is no better way than letting your friends know that you also value and understand their way of doing things and pay attention to their world as well even if it means that you are stepping out of your comfort zone. IV. Be patient: This will especially be applicable to those who will need extra attention as your friends. You will get there and it is important that you get there. Think about your first day in class this year. Remember to try out this worksheet when you start school soon:
