Greener approach to making biogas
Leading the way to innovation, Atunaisa Rainima who is 23 years of age, opts for a greener approach to making biogas from organic matter and basic landscaping through his Youth Entrepreneurship Scheme (YES) project proposal.
“We must teach the youth how to take care of the environment, and the production of biogas from organic household waste and grass cuttings is important in reducing green house gas emissions and improve energy security everywhere,” Mr Rainima said.
He has no prior experience in the field. “I believe that my proposed plan of having different packages to cater for the removal of organic matter and converting it to biogas for people.
“We need to create awareness through the services I have proposed in my proposal for the YES programme as these services reduce the waste we leave in the environment, Mr Rainima said.
His mother Sokoveti Rainima said: “I am very proud of him, and he is the eldest of my three children”
Mr Rainima believes that he wants to follow a “waste not, want not” policy in his business whereby he will utilised the grant given to him for reducing organic waste and do his part in saving the environment.
The initiative by Government has stirred up a movement for the youth to successfully pursue their aspirations as entrepreneurs.
Mr Rainima intends on taking advantage of this opportunity to start his business and serve as an inspiration to others like he has for his siblings.
