Century 21: Talk of the Town
Young entrepreneurs are the innovative blocks of the economy. And, Aakash Sharma who is the owner of Century 21, is filling the missing gaps in the night life in Ba.
His business is located on Ganga Street in Ba town.
He commenced business operations on December 9, 2017.
Starting his own business at 25 after graduating with a degree in Computer Science and Electrical Electronic at the University of the South Pacific, he started working in Suva for three years. “I came back home for some family commitments when I realised that Ba needs a place where people could go and wind down,” said Mr Sharma. “From the refreshing memories of the capital city and I came up with the idea of a bar and drew up a business plan and let my idea grow to what is Century 21. “As I didn’t have any prior experience in managing a business, I decided to do a startup with six workers and the challenge of getting a liquor licence was exhausting.
“I plan to extend the bar so that I could allow more customers and also expand the business outside of Ba, probably to Nadi or Pacific Harbour,” said Mr Sharma.
“All I wanted to do was give the Ba community a classy place to chill out at after a tough day and at the same time I am providing employment opportunities to the people of my hometown,” he added.
