Labasa To Experience Big Car Show Today
Anew car show sponsored by Advanced Parts and Spares has been organised by Western Race Mods in Labasa. The one day show will begin at 10am and end at 10pm at Subrail Park in Labasa today.
Western Race Mods administrator Davis Kumar said his colleagues realised there was a need to have a car show for the people of Labasa this year.
“We have been having car shows in central and western divisions and during such occasions, we have met people from Labasa where they have expressed their interest,” Mr Kumar said.
“Hence, we decided to search for a sponsor and after a vigorous effort, we finally secured Advanced Parts and Spares Limited managing director Yogeshwar Chand and we are indeed very thankful to him.
“About 12 employees from Mr Chand’s company will be assisting us,” Mr Kumar said.
“We planned to have car exhibitions, food stalls, bouncy castles, ferries wheels, photography and much more. “While we will be having this show, we will be creating awareness on safe driving.
“We would like to encourage people not to race on public roads whenever they want.
“We would like to suggest to them if they wish to race, to do it on a proper ground and legally.
“Our aim is to reduce car accidents and illegal car races on our roads.”
The ground entry fee for this show is $3 per head and a $35 entry fee for a car to participate.
Mr Chand said he sponsored this show because his company was directly related to this field.
“It was a good opportunity for us to be part of it especially as this is the first time a car show will be held,” Mr Chand said.
“To the people of the North, I would like to urge you to attend this show where you will get to learn a lot of things about cars, as we have been witnessing the increased number of cars on our roads.
“This show is actually like a platform whereby you can generate or boast your interest in cars and take it to a greater height as the shows have gained lot of interest in other parts of Fiji.”
