ADI KOILA JOINS FIJI PNG BUSINESS COUNCIL BOARD

Adi Koila Nailatikau has been elected as a board member for the Fiji Papua New Guinea Business council.

A lawyer by profession, Adi Koila was elected during the council’s Annual General Meeting on January 18 at the Grand Pacific Hotel.

The former first lady is the daughter of the former Prime Minister and former President Ratu Kamisese Mara who was a good friend of former PNG Prime Minister Sir Michael Somare.

Adi Koila has a wealth of experience that would better shape the business relationsh­ip between the two largest Melanesian countries.

The council also announced the election of Div Damodar, chief executive officer of Damodar Group of companies, as their new president.

“I am honoured to have been elected to serve as President of Fiji PNG Business council. I am thankful to our members for their trust in my ability to lead the organisati­on,” Mr Damodar said.

About FIJI PNG BUSINESS COUNCIL

The Council is Formed to promote trade, commerce and investment between Fiji and Papua New Guinea, Fiji - PNG council has the largest council members in the country.

Three years ago, there were 103 interested members, however in recent years the members have reduced to 53 financial members for period 2016. The council host executive meeting to address and discuss financial report, shipping and customs updates, creating networking events and membership drive. The council also forces on Trade mission and Trade visits.
