ALL-MAKE Group of Companies director Mohammed Rifayaz Khan said when they first started their business in 2006, they rented a small shack in Vatuwaqa which usually got flooded when it rains. “We had to move our stocks to avoid any damage,” he said.

It was an Autospares business with an investment of about $500,000.

“We had a really tough start. It was a struggle and challenge that my parents had gone through,” he said. Including his parents, the company started with only five employees but now they have employed up to 20 staff. They import their auto parts from Japan, China, Taiwan and Australia.

The company now have three branches in Lautoka, Nakasi and their headquarters is in Vatuwaqa.

Recently, the company opened their first commercial complex at Pilling Road in Nasinu. The quarter million dollar complex has a supermarket with 10 outlets.

Mr Khan said from an autospares business and moving to commercial business was a huge milestone for the family.

“It was all my father’s idea to diversify the business.”

The company will be commnecing the construction of their Lautoka complex very soon, Mr Khan said.

Business and sports

Apart from their business, the company is also sponsoring Fiji’s featherweight boxing champion Krishna Mudaliar who will be fighting Ulaiasi Qalomai on February 2 at Novotel Hotel Suva Lami Bay in the Westwood Boxing Promotion..

“Fiji has a lot of sporting talents all across the board but what they need is support,” Mr Khan said.

Many of our youths have the potential but there are no sources of funding.

“It is important to support the potentials of these youths and who knows, one day they will be famous like our rugby team representing our country.”
