Overseas-based Duo To Join Rewa

- GRACE NARAYAN Makoe’s transfer window dispute Edited by Anasilini Ratuva

Overseas based duo Diego Maximo and Ratu Luke Logasalato will play for Rewa against Lautoka in the third round of the Vodafone Premier League clash at Ratu Cakobau Park at 3pm this Sunday. The Delta Tigers were scoreless against Nadi last Sunday and look forward to a better performance this week. Speaking to SUN sports yesterday, Rewa football president Nazeel Buksh said the side would resume their normal training session from today.

“We have recruited our players from today to begin proper training sessions for the match this Sunday.

“We had lots of disruptions prior to the match last week as we had the transfer window issues regarding few of our players,” Buksh said.

“But I am glad we managed to sort out the players for the game this week and we can now focus on team preparations. We have finalised the players staying back for this week’s clash.

“We will be having two overseas-based players, Diego Maximo from the Marist Football club and Ratu Luke Logasalato, from Manukau United in New Zealand joining the Rewa side. But it will all depend on the coach.

“However, we still got one transfer window issue regarding our player Amani Makoe ,who is still under dispute with the Labasa football side and is currently awaiting confirmation from the Fiji Football Association on his release. “We had incurred a bit of injury with one of our players Gabrieli Matanisiga who is still awaiting final decisions whether to be fit to play this week.

“Lautoka is the champion team as they had been undefeated in the last Vodafone Premier League season but nevertheless I think my side has a lot of positives to prove themselves this weekend.

“I would like to urge all our fans to come out in numbers and support the side this week.”
