Attempted burglary, rape accused plea on March 12

A26-year-old man charged with one count of attempted rape, burglary and aggravated robbery will have his plea heard on March 12, 2018.

The accused, Niko Levula, allegedly committed the offence on November 5, 2017 when he entered the house belonging to the 35-year-old complainant while she was sleeping and threatened to rape her.

He is alleged to have later taken off with a phone and assorted items, which was found in his possession.

State lawyer Unaisi Tamanikaiyaroi served Levula with disclosures in the High Court in Suva. Justice Salesi Temo remanded him in custody and adjourned the case for plea. Levula was represented by Legal Aid lawyer, Vani Filipe.
