It was a proud moment for the Naidu twins as Mark was appointed headboy and Mathew a senior prefect of Lautoka Andhra Sangam School. Mark and Mathew from Wairabetia in Lautoka showed their brotherly love as they shared the spotlight during the prefects induction on Thursday. School headboy Mark said he was fortunate to have his brother by his side to share every memorable moment with him.

“From the two of us, I have always been considered the weaker twin, but I have the brains,” he said. “As I lead the school I am very lucky to have my brother by my side helping me as I take on this role as a headboy.

“I consider myself lucky to have a twin who I can share every moment, whether good or bad, as long as we care for each other.”

Mathew said he would have to be strong for both of them and they would help each other with their new roles.

“I am happy right now to be given this position as a prefect, and I am also happy for my brother,” he said.

“This will be a great journey and I know I will get to share it with him.”

Mark and Mathew both aspire to be doctors. Parents Daniel and Cecily Naidu said they were proud of their sons and they considered themselves blessed.

“We are very proud of our sons and we are blessed to have both of them being badged as student leaders,” Ms Naidu said.
