The Pacific Islands Private Sector Organisation (PIPSO) in partnership with the University of the South Pacific (USP) has planned a host of presenters and topics to inspire the young minds of budding Entrepreneurs.

The week-long USP Entrepreneurial Fair to be held at the Japan ICT Multipurpose Theatre, begins tomorrow.

Running for the third year in a row, PIPSO is engaged by the University to bring together successful Entrepreneurs in Fiji as well as representatives from Government and Not for Profit Organisations on what it takes to start, keep and grow a business in Fiji.

The week looks to be an exciting one where participants will have the opportunity to hear from Publisher Rose Narawa of the Entrepreneur Magazine, Smoked meats chef and owner of Niu Grillz, Sikipio Fihaki, Party Event Hire Managing Director Kim Beddoes, The Big Green Salad owner Apenisa Vodo, Owner and Designer of Kuiviti Fashions, Epeli Tuibeqa and Singer/Performing Artist Natalie Raikadroka.

Alisi Tuqa, Acting CEO of PIPSO said that by bringing together a wide range of businesses, in various industries from Food to Fashion and Event Management to Entertainment, they hope to inspire young people to see that great business ideas can stem and grow into successful business ventures.

She said:“We hope that this workshop will help influence a change in the mindsets of young people, not to limit themselves.

“The general practice has been studying, graduating and then looking for employment but young people have the potential to look beyond being job seekers to being job creators.”

The workshop will also cover sessions by various organisations such at MIIT, Fiji Development Bank, Westpac Bank and Young Entrepreneurs Council on funding schemes and support systems in place for Small to Medium Enterprises (SMEs) as well as a presentation by Keynote Speaker Pic Picot, Managing Director of award winning NZ made Pic’s Peanut Butter.
