Saud Minam, ANZ Fiji country head, says they see great strength in the Fijians and they believe there is a skillset, energy and commitment in the workforce that sets the nation apart in the region.

He was speaking at the ANZ Fiji Excellence in Tourism Awards, at the Sheraton Convention Centre, Denarau, Nadi, last night.

“I’m certain that many – if not all – tourism operators in the room today would agree.

“As you may have seen in the press, ANZ has committed to sponsoring these awards as namingrights sponsor for another two years.

“We believe that by supporting and investing in the awards, we’re helping to provide a valuable platform for Fiji’s tourism industry to grow.

“We’re committed to aligning our investments where they count the most for the future, including in refurbishing our branches across Fiji, including Lautoka, Namaka, Nausori, Centre Point and Labasa, investing in our communities – as you saw in our video – and investing in our people – and we’re proud of the 28 Fijian nationals we have working for ANZ abroad.

“Congratulations to all the nominees. I acknowledge your commitment to your business and to the country. You did not get to where you are by accident, and I applaud you all,” he said.

“We’re also pleased to once again support local designers through our Fashion ATM initiative this year, showcasing the amazing talent and business opportunity we have here in Fiji, and connecting this to tourism.” Edited by Mohammed Zulfikar
