Dogoru Villagers Prepare for 2018 Election

- WATI TALEBULA Edited by George Kulamaiwasa

Villagers of Dogoru in Macuata are happy that the awareness campaign ‘Know Your Election’ was launched at their village on Wednesday night. Supervisor of Elections Mohammed Saneem and his team were at the village to educate villagers and answer questions raised by the voters there.

“We are not here to tell you who to vote for,’’ Mr Saneem said. “And, we also don’t want to know who you will vote for.

“We are here to inform you how you will vote. “We have brought to you today the election booklet which has complete information about the election process from registration, voting, counting and results.” Villager Kinisimere Watisici said it was a good day to raise concerns about the elections.

“What they are doing is great because we are able to clarify any queries that we have in regards to election,” Ms Watisici said.

“This is the first time for me to be part of this awareness. I hope this is just the starting of many.” Melanaia Diqiso said the awareness was informative.

“It is good to know more in-depth (information) on the election and I will make sure that I make my vote count,” Ms Diqiso said. “Today I am learning new things when it comes to election. Now we are able to clarify our doubts.” More than 80 villagers of Dogoru were present at their hall in Macuata for the awareness launch.
