Ba TIV Ready to defend IDC Title

Vodafone Fijian football players Junior Narendra Rao and Kishan Sami will play for Ba at the 2018 TIV Sangam Interdistr­ict Championsh­ip at Lawaqa Park, Sigatoka on Thursday.

As defending champions, Ba have roped in veteran midfielder Roneel Kumar, Johnny and Dennis Rao. The Ba team have been training under the watchful eyes of coach, Daniel Krishneel.

“It will be a pretty interestin­g tournament this year and a lot of good teams are coming from abroad,” Rao said.

“We have top teams like Lautoka, Nadi and Labasa that will bring the level of competitio­n to a top notch. As defending champions, Ba will be having a lot of experience. The pressure is on us to perform and we are confident to play in Lawaqa.”

Ba and national football defender Avinesh Suwamy has joined the Nadi TIV side while Praneel Naidu plays for TIV and Shivneel Rao to feature for Solovi.
