Korovuto lad Rahul Aaron Kumar cannot wait to get into the ring and take on Jovesa Lomia in their lightweight clash. Kumar was disappointed after Junior Wahid Khan pulled out in the eleventh hour.

“This is my fifth fight and I was aiming for Junior Wahid but something happened to him but I will fight anyone that comes along,” he said.

The 21-year-old Lomia hails from Namakita, Nalawa in Ra and is glad to be making his professional debut tonight.

“I will knock him in the second round,” predicted Kumar.

“I had trained hard because I was supposed to be fighting Junior Wahid but since he has backed off I will continue on.” Kumar’s manager Freddy Chand of the Seaside Boxing Club said they are gunning for bigger things in the sport.

“He is ready for the fight and is determined to showcase what he has learnt in the ring. We are grateful to the promoter for having faith in Rahul.”

Lomia said despite making his debut he is also determined to make a name in the sport.

“I want to be like Anthony Joshua and will do my talking in the ring,” he said. Meanwhile, the programme will feature the Mudaliar brothers; Krishna who takes on Franco Frasier while Sachin faces former champion boxer Ritesh Gounder and Krishneel to slug it out against Junior Farzan Ali in what is going to be an explosive affair

Kumar’s manager Freddy Chand of the Seaside Boxing Club said they are gunning for bigger things in the sport.
