Who are they?

I find Sitiveni Rabuka's comments that the FijiFirst Government is giving too many handouts to the common people of Fiji to be very hypocritical.

According to reports by the Review Magazine, a late paramount chief close to Rabuka took several million dollars from the National Bank of Fiji without paying it back. The loan was approved by a bank manager Rabuka hand-picked.

Many elites and prominent people's names were in the Review Magazine list of NBF bad debtors under Rabuka's leadership. Now Rabuka wants to criticise the current Government for providing much-needed assistance to our people who suffered from cyclones and floods and the various sectors of our population who are marginalised. Yet he remained quiet and saw no wrong when a few elites “looted” our National Bank under his watch.

There are hundreds of inmates serving jail terms right now for stealing less than $1000 each.

Each of their families is today suffering the consequences of their actions.

Yet the NBF collapse cost more than $350 million and no one went to prison for it. Some of the culprits who caused that are living a happy and luxurious life today courtesy of Rabuka's governance while we the taxpayers are now still paying for their debts.

Who are they and what are we? FijiFirst is a Government by the people (through a landslide victory in 2014) for the people (via Government assistance and good governance).
