SEMI RADRADRA LIKELY FOR N0. 13, SAYS MCKEE
Semi Radradra should inject new blood in the centre for the Fiji Airways Flying Fijians starting with the internationals against Samoa, Georgia and Tonga at the ANZ Stadium, Suva.
Flying Fijians head coach John McKee is impressed with Radradra’s performance in the Top 14 competition for Toulon in France.
He is a capable replacement for veteran Vereniki Goneva and Asaeli Tikoirotuma. “I’ve been impressed with Semi Radradra’s form when playing 13 and will be looking to use him in that position at some point during the June tests,” McKee said. McKee is also impressed with wing Sevanaia Galala. “Seva has been playing well at inside centre for Brive in France over a number of seasons and will get his chance to show us what he can do at test match level in that position.”
McKee said the objective was to keep maintaining standards in the rugby test internationals.
“Match performance will be very important for us in these three challenging matches,” he said.
“We certainly want to maintain our positon as the top ranked Tier 2 team and put down some markers towards RWC 2019 particularly against Georgia who are also in Pool D in Japan.
“It is very important that we have our best players working in the Flying Fijians environment as often as possible from now to RWC 2019.” Fiji play Samoa on June 9, Georgia on June 16 and Tonga on June 23.
