Brive Rugby Club centre Sevanaia Galala could make his debut for the Fiji Airways Flying Fijians against Samoa in the first Pacific Nations Cup match at ANZ Stadium in Suva. The 25-year old France –based rep impressed head coach John McKee during training at Albert Park & Pavilion yesterday.

“This is Galala’s first experience with the squad and he’s been very comfortable and has been having a good run at No. 12 and No.13,” McKee said.

“I’m impressed with his performance, player to watch.”

He is excited about the midfield combinations of Galala, Vereniki Goneva ,Jale Vatubua and Semi Radradra who will join camp this weekend.

“We have a couple of midfield combinations here but we got to come up with one when I make the call on Thursday.”

There is no doubt La Rochelle fullback Kini Murimurivalu will start at No. 15. “Murimurivalu is our specialist at No. 15 and he’s looking good in that spot,”McKee said.

He is impressed with the leadership group in the team.

“It’s very important within our team that we spread the leadership. “We are working with our leadership players, to help them become effective on their roles.

“As a head coach I have a very strong technical staff working with me as we look at the team’s culture, input on nutrition and discussion on team tactics, so this is a very important group,” he said.
