The Kamal Swamy- coached Lautoka football side remain unbeaten in the Vodafone Premier League after they held Ba to a 1-1 draw at Churchill Park, Lautoka yesterday.

What happened: It took time for both teams to settle down and the match failed to live-up to expectation. There were a lot of goal scoring opportunities for both teams but it was way of target .

Halftime: Lautoka 0-0 Ba.

The home team struck first in the 71st minute through Muni Sivam Naidu chipped the ball from outside the box and it sailed past the Ba defenders for the opening goal.

But the visitors fought back to equalise through a well-taken goal by Amena Bola in the 80th minute

as Lautoka goalkeeper Beniamino Mateinaqara was caught napping. Comments: Ba manager Arvind Singh said: “We’ve a lot of young players who we are giving them game time.

“It will take time and surely we will be back to where we should be. Lautoka was a better team today.” Lautoka coach Kamal Swamy said:

“Today we used a couple of new players as some of our senior players were not available.

“But it’s a good work out for them playing against Ba who is also on a rebuilding phase.

“We are still undefeated in the league but we should have won this match but lack of concentration among the defender allowed Ba to score the equaliser.”
