NFP SUPPORT DROPS: POLL
It has dropped significantly from 9.7% to 4%
The National Federation Party’s support has been on a constant decline over the past four weeks, Fiji Sun-Razor Poll has revealed. The latest poll results put NFP at
four per cent despite continuous pocket meetings held around the country by NFP leader Biman Prasad and other provisional candidates. Results compiled on May 25 showed that 9.7 per cent of those
polled would vote for NFP. On May 31, this had declined to 6 per cent. The party’s popularity remained at 6 per cent the following week, but the latest figures put it at 4 per cent. NFP has suffered the greatest decline
over the past four weeks. At this rate they may not even make the threshold. SODELPA has remained between
14.8 per cent and 18 per cent as revealed in the latest poll.
Fiji Labour Party has polled a consistent result over the last three weeks, but received a low three per cent potential voter response this week.
FijiFirst, on the other hand has polled an impressive 73 per cent. The party polled strongly over the last month. This week ending May 25 had the party polling 63 per cent. The following week, on May 31, FijiFirst scored 65 per cent.
The June 8 poll had a slight dip in FijiFirst numbers by one per cent while this week it has recorded a huge leap to 73 per cent.
One thousand people, 500 in the Central Division, 300 in the Western Division and 200 in the Northern Division, were interviewed face to face for the poll.
Upskilling of teachers
Meanwhile, 60 per cent of those who were interviewed feel that there is a need to upskill our teachers.
21 per cent felt there was no need for teachers to upskill themselves while 19 per cent were unsure
In a major nod to Government’s civil service reform, those polled feel that it is time that teachers focus more on their training and upskilling.
