Eid develops unity among Nadi families

Opening the door of your homes on Eid-ul-Fitr to celebrate with all is a great sign of unity says Ulaiyasi Naivogo.

Mr Naivogo, who hails from Tubenasolo, Nawaka, Nadi, was invited with his family to the home of Simon Naushad at Westfield, Nadi yesterday.

Mr Naushad, as a staunch Muslim took part in fasting during the month of Ramadan. He said Eid was a grand festive occasion, especially for those who persevered during the fasting period. “For me it is time to meet friends and open doors to neighbours regardless of religion and race,” Mr Naushad said.

“Unity is reiterated during this auspicious time. It is a glorious moment to have our iTaukei brothers and sisters among our families on this day.

“My door will be opened for two weeks from now with family and friends visiting us.”

Earlier in the morning many worshipers gathered at mosques in the Western Division.
