WE WILL VOTE FOR A CARING GOVERNMENT: QOMA HEADMAN

- MAIKA BOLATIKI

The headman of Qoma village in Tailevu yesterday said they would vote for a caring Government in the 2018 general election. “We want to vote for a Government that cares for the people in the rural areas,” Sailasa Naisele said.

He said the Prime Minister Voreqe Bainimarama-led Government was delivering what they wanted and also cared for the rural people.

At Qoma village he said their crossing was broken by Tropical Cyclone Winston and was now replaced by a better one after they made their request to the Commissioner Central’s Office in Nausori.

He said they had made other requests and they had received them.

Mr Naisele said they had made requests to past Governments and the reply was slow and in many cases there was no reply. With the Bainimarama-led Government he said it was very different as it was for the people.

When asked if a political party had visited the island for their political campaign he said so far none.

However, he said the villagers were open to choose who they voted for.
