The Fiji Football Associatio­n is expecting more than 25,000 fans at the INKK Mobile Battle of the Giants (B.O.G) tournament at Churchill Park in Lautoka next month.

The associatio­n’s chief executive officer Mohammed Yusuf made the comment after the launching and drawing of the pools for the five –day tournament yesterday.

INKK Mobile operations manager Amitesh Narayan also confirmed they would continue their support for the after providing $60,000 for the upcoming tournament. The pool games will be on July 2022, while the finals would be held a week later on the same venue. “This will be the only tournament held in the western division this year and we are expecting fans, especially those from the west, to turn up in numbers,” Yusuf said.

“We are expecting around 25,000 fans to pass through the gates during the five days of the tournament.

“We have a 3,600 sitting capacity in the stands so the tickets prices would be higher, but the embankment will be made affordable for everyone.” Yusuf also confirmed that their B.O.G would be running in conjunctio­n with the Internatio­nal Veterans Over- 40 tournament, which would be attended by six overseas teams. Pool A: Rewa, Suva, Nadi, Dreketi Pool B: Lautoka, Ba, Lab asa, Tavua.
