Board Appoints Inia Naiyaga as SUN Insurance Managing Director
Chairman of SUN Insurance’s Board of Directors, Padam Raj Lala has announced the appointment of Inia Naiyaga as the Managing Director with effect from June 6.
This appointment was subsequent to the resignation of the chief executive officer, Lolesh K. Sharma.
Mr Sharma was the ceo of SUN since 2011 till he resigned.
Mr Naiyaga has served the SUN Board as a consultant since 2016 and was later appointed as the independent director in April 2018.
About Mr Naiyaga
Mr Naiyaga is a chartered accountant and was a Central Banker for 40 years.
He retired as the Deputy Governor of the Reserve Bank of Fiji in May 2014.
Prior to his retirement he also served as the Deputy Governor of the National Reserve Bank of Tonga for five years and was a member of the Executive Management team of the Reserve Bank of Fiji for 25 years.
Currently he is a director of the Fiji Development Bank, director of the National Fire Authority, Director of FHL Stockbrokers Ltd, Member of the University of the South Pacific
Mr Naiyaga will bring a wealth of experience from the regulated Financial Services sector to the SUN Team.
Finance and Investment Committee, Member of the Christian Mission Fellowship International Executive Board, and chairman of his Village Company Namuka Nakelo Holdings Ltd.
In announcing the appointment, Mr Lala said that Mr Naiyaga will bring a wealth of experience from the regulated Financial Services sector to the SUN Team.
