Fijian Blue Colours MACFEST Opening

More than 80 Fijians, who are representi­ng Fiji at the 2018 Melanesian Arts and Cultural Festival, took part in the opening ceremony in Honiara, Solomon Islands yesterday.

With the theme, “Past Recollecti­ons, Future Connection­s”, the festival brings together about 2000 artists and performers from Papua New Guinea, Fiji, Vanuatu, New Caledonia and Solomon Islands. Welcoming the delegates to the 2018 MACFEST, Solomon Islands Minister for Culture and Tourism Bartholome­w Parapolo said that the people of Solomon Islands looked forward to hosting the MSG group of countries for the next 10 days.

Fiji was led by the Permanent Secretary for iTaukei Affairs, Naipote Katonitabu­a.
