Name: Aseri Masivou Radrodro Age: 46 Occupation: Politician Marital status: Married Residence: Serea Village, Naitasiri Where from: Born and raised in Serea Village, Naitasiri Education: Solo-i-Ra District School in Serea, Naitasiri, Queen Victoria School, University of the South Pacific (USP) Qualifications: Bachelor of Accounting and Financial Management USP, Master of Business Administration (MBA) 2007. Third Year Law Degree (LLB) currently in progress at USP Work experience: ■ A Chartered accountant and auditor by profession ■ Served in various Executive and Management positions in both the private and public sectors. ■ Has served as CEO for Land Transport Authority, Fiji Sports Council and National Fire Authority. ■ Also served on the then FEA, the Fijian Holdings Boards and its subsidiary companies. ■ Served as a Member of the Public Accounts Committee in 2012-2014. ■ Became a Member of Parliament in 2014 and is a member of the Public Accounts Committee. What is the main issue you will be highlighting for this election, and why? ■ I wanted to join SODELPA and be the voice of the marginalised and the underprivileged. I also wanted to be an advocate for people who were victims of coups in Fiji, whether they were affected directly by losing their jobs, or became unemployed because of restructures, or were indirectly affected when their parents and family members became targets of those in power. ■ I also stood for the elections to give the people of the Province of Naitasiri a voice in Parliament. I always felt that my province has provided a lot for the country over the years, for example, in the provision of electricity through the Monasavu and Nadarivatu dams, but the development for the people have not been reciprocated in the same manner of good will. I want to address this and be an advocate for it. ■ I want to encourage and motivate more people, especially the younger people from Naitasiri, to stand and be representatives of the people in Parliament. I also want to be an example to young people and those who are raised up in villages or rural communities under trying circumstances like me, that all is possible if we have the will and trust in God to lead us. Mr Radrodro attributes his journey in Parliament so far to the grace of God and thanks his campaign team, his fellow villagers and kinsmen from Naitasiri, his family, especially his wife and their eight children, and all his supporters, which includes his professional friends and former colleagues, the Queen Victoria School (QVS) Old Boys and everyone who had helped and journeyed with him in the past four years in Parliament.
