Five-month-old Kanalevu Kitchen will be part of the Thurston Food and Music Festival at Suva’s Thurston Gardens this Saturday.

Kanalevu Kitchen is a homebased online food vendor based in Suva.

The business runs on social media platforms, particularly Instagram, Twitter and Facebook.

They specialise in breakfast and lunch packs.

The business is owned by Frank Saketa and his wife Vui Saketa.

While speaking to the

Mrs Saketa said they are excited to be part of the event this weekend.

“It is important to us because we love food and music, and being able to be a part of something that brings the two together is bound to be pretty epic,” she said.

“Music being the universal language that it is, has no barriers and food is kind of like the ‘seal the deal’ for any occasion really.

She said they have seen the increase in people who have followed them on social media and had taken a keen interest in their venture.

She added that the event would be a great way to celebrate local talent and the arts as well as a great platform to influence change.

“The event this year is ‘plastic bag and straw free’, as a means to reducing single use plastics which is great! We all need to play a part in being kind to our environment and the planet, and if we haven’t already done so in our own little way, this is a great way to start.”

The event is organised by KNOX Entertainment and Gold FM supported by Paradise Beverages and the Suva City Council.
