Police are investigating the death of an unidentified woman who was found in a vacant flat along Amy Street in Toorak, Suva, yesterday afternoon.

Officers were at the scene yesterday to conduct investigations and take the body away. Police spokesperson Ana Naisoro said the woman was initially found by a man who then alerted a security officer at the Madras Institute of Orthopaedics and Traumatology (MIOT) Pacific Hospital across the road. The security officer then contacted Police. Ms Naisoro said the cause of death and how investigating officers would treat the death would not be known until after they receive the post-mortem examination result.

This is expected to be conducted today or tomorrow.

Ms Naisoro could not revealed any further details because officers were yet to finish their investigation.

The property, which had been vacant for some time, is located between the Islands Business and Fiji Care Insurance offices.
