Aself-proclaimed guru at stealing cash from armoured trucks has allegedly taught wannabe thugs the tricks of the trade.

The unnamed Sydney man hit his stride in November 2012 when he was released from jail after being found not guilty of stealing AU$6 million (FJ$9.35m) from cash trucks during a string of hold-ups.

But when he began to run low on cash, the heist expert allegedly decided to become a freelance armed robbery coach and took wannabe criminals under his wing, according to The Daily Telegraph.

Prosecutors allege that for an undisclosed price the man would sit down with two clients and help them plan an armed hold-up, teaching the pair the most effective methods to ensure the highest chance of success.

He would also lead the hold-up, according to documents tendered to the Downing Centre District Court. A planning meeting allegedly took place on February 24, 2013, in the visitors section of Lithgow Jail.

The teacher met with two members of a notorious Middle Eastern crime families who were eager to learn the secrets of the trade, the documents said.
