Expert: knowledge management can boost productivity
Knowledge management is part of productivity therefore it is important that the right knowledge is made available to the right people within an organisation.
These were the sentiments of National Training and Productivity Centre director, Isimeli Tagicakiverata, while speaking at a forum in Nadi yesterday.
“In the process an organisation can retrieve this knowledge as and
when needed,” he said. The Top Management Forum on Knowledge Management and Innovation for Small and Medium Enterprises (SMEs) was facilitated by the Asian Productivity Organisation (APO) in collaboration with Fiji National University.
It was held at the Tanoa International Hotel.
A total of 23 participants, mainly from Asian countries , are attending the three-day forum.
The participants are expecting to produce an action plan on how they could build knowledge management in their organisations and countries.
Mr Tagicakiverata said the success of an organisation depended on the type of knowledge shared amongst its employees to improve productivity and output.
On the other hand, he said innovation took on a new and existing ideas translating it into good or service that created value.
The forum ends tomorrow .
