Ronaldo leaves a $34K tip
Athens: Football superstar Cristiano Ronaldo has shocked staff at the Greek luxury hotel he stayed in, leaving a tip for £17,850 (NZ$34,400)
Ronaldo,33, went to Greece for a holiday after his Portugal side exited the World Cup in the round of 16 earlier this month.
He has since joined Italian side Juventus, with his transfer fee from Real Madrid a reported 112 million euros (NZ$193m), so he’s not short of a dime when it comes to tipping.
The Sun reported that Ronaldo was so impressed with the service at the Costa Navarino resort in the Pelopnnese region of Greece he left a huge cheque as a tip.
It said he asked management to split the tip so all staff benefited.
Ronaldo met with Juventus chairman Andrea Agnelli at the resort as they worked out details of his four-year deal.
