Zahid scores four goals

Striker Abbu Zahid scored all goals in the 4-0 drubbing of Tavua in the second pool match of the 2018 INKK Mobile Battle of the Giants at the Churchill Park, Lautoka yesterday.

What happened: the Malakai Tiwa -captained Ba side maintained their unbeaten run after the 2-0 win over Labasa on Friday night.

Ba had the services of Mavileko Nakama, Saula Waqa, Manasa Nawaikula, Laisenia Raura, Malakai Tiwa while Atunaisa Naucukidi replaced Josaia Ratu who was injured before the match started.

Tavua had the likes of Vilitati Kautoga, Kasim Khan, Mosim Khan, Vilive Livanalagi, Sairusi Nalewadonu.

Halftime: Ba 0–0 Tavua.

In the second spell Ba managed to bring in impact players such as Marika Robanadaka­vu, Kini Madigi which made a difference. Zahid was assisted with many opportunit­ies from midfield and he opened the floodgates in the 57th minute and again in the 75th minute.

Zahid pulled another one beating goalkeeper Jovilisi Borisi in the 84th minute. A minute later he scored his fourth and final goal after being assisted by Kini Madigi who came off the bench. Big Play: Zahid scoring four goals a rare feat. Star Turn: Meli Codro worked tirelessly on the left link.

Comments: Ba manager Arvind Singh said, “Happy to record another win. Three points is very crucial for us and it is not easy to beat Tavua. We have one more game to play.” Tavua captain Semi Vakatalai said,

“We tried our best but Ba is a champion side.”
