Sailosi Koroitamana has high hopes of becoming an agriculture teacher. The 19-year-old headboy of Nasinu Secondary School said the wide range of career choices offered by USP, which were on show during USP’s Open Day, enabled young students like him to make proper and wise choices.

“I want to make an informed choice for next year. There were also other science booths such as the Physics and Mathematics booth which looks fun and interesting, he said.” But Sailosi also knows that he would have to improve his time management skills to cater for his busy time schedule next year as a tertiary student.

On the other hand, Miteli Nakasamai wants to work in the extravagant life of food and beverage and hotel management.

The lad from Nayavutoka in Ra is a Year 13 student at Navesau Adventist High School in Tailevu. “I was always drawn to the rich and exuberant lifestyle of resort workers,” he said.

“They have many benefits such as meeting and socialising with new people and that is what I like.” He said that USP would be a good place to build on his tertiary qualification because of the hands-on experience.

“The students have internship programmes which will provide essential experience and skills required in the tourism industry,” said Mr Nakasamai.

“I encourage my fellow colleagues to choose their career choices wisely because what they work for should involve their passion and I’d like to think I’m making the correct one.”
