It took them a decade to reunite for a film, and Zafar did the unthinkable by getting the Desi Girl and Bollywood’s Bhaijaan together for Bharat.
At a time when the excitement around the project was palpable, Priyanka decided to make an impromptu exit from Bharat.
Last Friday, netizens woke up to the shocking news of Priyanka leaving Bharat for personal reasons. Zafar, who was excited to collaborate with Priyanka for the project, took to social media to confirm the news and hinted at her wedding with Nick Jonas as the reason behind Priyanka’s decision to quit the film.

And now, Zafar has found his leading lady in Katrina Kaif.
The filmmaker confirmed the news to a leading daily, “I am extremely excited to work with Katrina and Salman again. We have had exciting collaborations in the past. Katrina got on board in the ‘Nick’ of time for this project.” Priyanka couldn’t have asked for a better comeback in Bollywood than
Bharat, but now her lost opportunity has become a fruitful project for Katrina. Bollywood’s Chikni Chameli, who already has two big projects like
Zero and Thugs of Hindostan in her kitty, has bagged Zafar’s next with Salman.
With this new development, Katrina has now three films lined up with three Khans of Bollywood.
If she will play a warrior in Aamir Khan’s Thugs of Hindostan, she will essay the role of an alcoholic actress in Shah Rukh Khan’s Zero. And now, she has bagged another meaty role in Salman Khan-starrer Bharat.
It is no secret that Katrina and Salman make for a blockbuster couple. If their crackling chemistry can set the temperatures soaring, their on-screen romance can melt many hearts.
And fans can never get enough of them together. And now a few months after their superhit film Tiger Zinda Hai, they are reuniting for Zafar’s Bharat.
Going by the latest development, Katrina is slowly getting to make interesting work choices. Katrina, who is now moving out of her comfort zone with her upcoming projects, said in an interview, “I don’t think you can ever feel 100 per cent accomplished and secure in your career because it is a rapidly changing industry.
Things are changing so quickly. But now I do feel comfortable and confident. I have had a career that has been successful.
Going ahead, you have to put in that much hard work, keep performing and keep doing films in new spaces that are not only challenging but also interesting to the audience.”
