WOMAN TO FRONT COURT FOR ALLEGEDLY HARBOURING ESCAPEE
A woman in her late 20s will be produced at the Lautoka Magistrates Court today for allegedly harbouring escapee Josaia Leone since his escape from Police custody last month. The woman is Leone’s partner and information was gathered that the two were staying in a cave in the Saru Hills where a raid conducted by officers found the accused.
She has been charged with one count of harbouring and will be produced today. Meanwhile, Leone surrendered himself to the Western Division Taskforce team accompanied by a close relative.
Leone surrendered last night and is now in custody at the Lautoka Police Station. Once again we acknowledge members of the public and the media for assisting the Fiji Police Force in disseminating the request for information following his escape from lawful custody with two others last month.
