Nadogo Central College in the Province of Macuata has been boosted with a donation from the Australia and New Zealand Banking Group Limited (ANZ).

The college principal, Mohammed Khan, said they received five desktops, a printer and seven rugby balls, worth of $7000 in total.

“At the beginning of this year we had written a letter to the ANZ bank requesting for desktops and I would like to thank them for their assistance,” Mr Khan said. “The school, over the years, used the educational grant provided by the Government to put computers in the laboratory.

“Recently, the student roll from Years Nine to 13 increased to 438 and hence during computer class a few students shared one computer. To cater for students and teachers need, we wanted more computers. “At the same time we wanted to see improvement of students’ performance hence it was very important to upgrade our facility.

“Our school is located 53 kilometres away from Labasa Town is now on equal standard as any other schools in urban areas thanks to ANZ bank,” he said.

ANZ Fiji transaction manager Rajesh Raj made the presentation last Friday at the school.
