Police Attack: Eight to Front Court Today
Eight men will be produced at the Suva Magistrates Court today in connection with the attack on a group of Police officers in Suva last week.
It is the result of swift Police action after the men allegedly pelted a Police vehicle with stones when cornered after a chase. The attack happened last Friday morning near the Mead Road Housing complex in Nabua. Police spokesperson Ana Naisoro said the eight men have been charged with failure to produce a driving licence, failure to obey traffic direction, dangerous driving, criminal intimidation, damaging property, resisting arrest and driving a motor vehicle without driver’s licence.
Earlier, Commissioner of Police, Brigadier-General Sitiveni Qiliho said: “We will not rest until everyone involved in this attack is arrested, and if you want to support the attacks against Police officers, stand ready to face the consequences when the law takes its course.”
Preceding this is the senior officials meeting.
