2018 ICC WORLD TWENTY20 EAST ASIA PACIFIC SUB REGIONAL QUALIFIER UPDATE

The Cricket Fiji national team will get a baptism of fire in the first day of the 2018 ICC World Twenty20 East Asia Pacific Sub Regional Qualifier .

The team play the region’s top teams Papua New Guinea and Vanuatu on August 25 at Albert Park in Suva.

Team manager Sevunivola Baba said the players are preparing very well and are looking forward to the competitio­n which ends on August 29.

“The players are ready and the morale in camp is high as they look forward to a good outing,” Baba said

“We started training after the selection last month and the players have been up to the task.

“The side needs to start with a bang in the first match against Vanuatu and then PNG.

“We will need to focus at the nation’s call for duty and put on our best show.

“We need to be on our best form against Vanuatu,PNG and Samoa if we are to win in the end. “Vanuatu and PNG are the two top teams and the boys are being motivated to hit the nail on the head by the management on the first day. “
