Mental Toughness Key to Good Life, Says Contestant

Having a positive mental attitude will allow you to live and enjoy a fruitful life, says Mithali Bishwa who is vying for the Vodafone Miss Friendly North Festival title. Sponsored by Sambhu Lal Constructi­on Fiji Limited, the 21-year-old originally from Batinikama, Labasa, will be advocating on the value of positive mindedness during the festival which starts on August 18 at Subrail Park. “Men and women are not prisoners of their faith, but they are prisoners of their own mind,” Miss Bishwa said.

“Many young people today seem to be defeating their goals in life because they fail to have a positive mindset. I want to break this barrier and be a beacon of light to all that I meet.”

The first year student at the University of the South Pacific Labasa Campus majoring in Diploma in Human Resource Management is confident in taking the crown.

“I want to become the voice of the Northerner­s at the Fiji Pageant hence I will do whatever it takes to prove my abilities in this annual event,” the youngest of two siblings said.

“My sponsor, Sambhu Lal Constructi­on Fiji Limited based in Savusavu for the first time entered this festival and I have a major role to play. “The company’s motto is building future and trust. It is involved in a lot of capital projects boosting our country’s economy. “My ambition is to be a motivation­al speaker in order to be in a position to help others in making a difference in their lives.”

Her hobbies are dancing, painting, writing poetry, gym and doing yoga.

The weeklong festival will be held at Subrail Park in Labasa starting from August 18.
