New Look for Iconic Yasawa Flyer II
The catamaran that Awesome Adventures Fiji uses to transport its guests around the beautiful Yasawa Islands group has had a major facelift, including a change of colour.
The new paint job incorporates the white, blue and green colour palette of the rest of the South Sea Cruises fleet.
The Yasawa Flyer II has 130 new external seats, new carpets and decking and overhauled public areas. The South Sea Cruises logo has also been added to its exterior and the ship is no longer yellow. Mr Rutherford said the new colour system marks the end of an era for the recognisable vessel which has been a familiar sight in the Yasawas for the past 12 years.
Once primarily used by backpackers, these days the Yasawa Flyer II transports large numbers of travellers from all demographics. Mr Rutherford said: “The white vessel better reflects the service and demographics of customers this route now carries and of course portrays the current Awesome Adventures branding.
“Having the South Sea Cruises branding also on the vessel means we can utilise Yasawa Flyer II more in the Mamanucas when needed and for large charters and group bookings.
“It also reflects the fact we have more and more South Sea Cruises customers taking Resort Connections transfers to the Yasawa region.”
The vessel is a large high-speed, modern catamaran with air-conditioned seating, a travel desk, licenced bar, café and outdoor viewing decks.
Awesome Adventures Fiji offers the only big-vessel transfer service to Yasawa Island resorts.
Its island resort connections are included in all its experiences, but travellers can book stand-alone island resort connections with them too.
The Yasawa Flyer II departs Port Denarau at 8:30 am daily to island hop between the Mamanuca Island resorts of South Sea Island, Beachcomber and Treasure Island, en route to the top of the Yasawas. It returns to Port Denarau at 5:45 pm.
Beach Club Celebrate First Birthday
Malamala Beach Club, one of the rigion’s first island beach clubs, has had a successful first year, says South Sea Cruises’ chief executive officer Brad Rutherford.
He said its “fine cuisine and bar offerings, exceptional service and secluded tropical ambience attracting more than 27,000 guests since August 2017.”
“We’re delighted with how Malamala Beach Club has been received by our guests over the past year and can’t wait to mark the club’s achievements during its birthday weekend,” Mr Rutherford said.
“It has proved an exceptional addition to our portfolio and we are looking forward to seeing the growth continue.”
The club is owned and operated by South Sea Cruises.
Accessible by a private jetty, guests can move around the beach club’s facilities including its large infinity-edge pool that looks out onto the crystal-clear waters and its private cabanas and day beds.
With snorkelling activities in the surrounding reef, plus complimentary non-motorised water sports, there’s always plenty to do.
