King Navara: Win For All Single Parents
His biggest inspiration was his mother who faced a lot of difficulties.
The 2018 Vodafone Fiji Hibiscus king, Manasa Navara, dedicated his crown and title to all single parents and their children.
The 21-year-old and eldest of two siblings from Nadala, Ba, with links to Korovou Village, Tavua, and is a double major student at the University of the South Pacific studying Land Management and Political Science.
Mr Navara was emotional when he was crowned King and the first thing he said was: “God is good”. Mr Narava was speechless and caught by surprise. He said everyone was a winner because they all gave their best. He said the reason he entered the pageant was to advocate his message based on social development to share inspiring stories of single parents.
As he spoke, he got emotional when he related how he came from a single parent family and tried to prove people wrong about how they saw single parents and broken families.
“I am a representative of every single parent and their children,” Mr Navara said.
“My achievement is for all of the single parents and their children.”
He said his biggest inspiration was his mother who faced a lot of difficulties, but was blessed and provided him with everything she could.
Mr Navara thanked Vodafone Fiji Limited for providing a platform for youths to advocate on issues that affect them and they believed in so passionately.
His mother, Salote Raica, 47, was thankful to God and the sponsors for the blessing and support.
“Ever since he was chosen to be a contestant, I kept praying to God for his wellbeing and shower his blessings upon him endlessly,” she said.
“I am thankful for the sponsor Trendy Fashion, the University of the South Pacific students who had helped Manasa with their support and financial support as well and all the supporters.”
